Any individual visiting Mali must obtain a visa. Currently, citizens from 25 countries can travel to Mali without a visa. The two main types of visas include business and tourist selections with options for single-entry, multiple-entry, or stays for up to six months.

Categories of Entry Visas/Permits to Mali:
Tourist e-visa
  • Needed by travellers that intend to spend time in Mali as part of their travelling itinerary or as a specific holiday destination. They will have to prove the length of their intended stay by providing an airline ticket or itinerary round trip travel agency certificate and hotel reservation confirmations.

Business e-visa
  • This visa enables travelers to engage in various business activities in Mali, including attending conferences, conducting business meetings or negotiations, investing, or managing new or existing businesses.

Official Visa
  • For Government Officer or Diplomat going to Mali for an official visit with the promotion of the Foreign Ministry of country of origin.
Requirements for Entry Visas/Permits to Mali:

The visas and permits have different requirements regarding forms and documents. There are some general requirements, but there are also visa-specific forms. If you’re planning a trip to Ghana, it’s essential to understand the country’s visa requirements.

  1. Passport: Your passport must be machine readable and also must. be valid for the next six months and have at least one blank visa page.
  2. Fully completed Two(2) Visa Application Form – must be completed in black ink and block letters. The applicant must sign the application form, and the signature should match the signature on the passport.
  3. Two recent passport size photographs with 80% face coverage, white background, and without border (Size: 35mm x 45mm).
  4. A Covering Letter from the applicant on plain A4 paper, starting with the name, designation, Passport Number, travel dates (in & out), purpose and outlining who will be responsible for the full costs of the trip – travel, accommodation, expenses etc. The letter should be duly signed by the applicant with his/her phone number & email address.
  5. Invitation Letter from a relevant party in Mali.
  6. Bank Statement for the last 6 months.
  7. Service Holder: Letter issued by the employer on company’s official letterhead establishing a position of the employee in the company, years in service, grant of leave and salary certificate of the last three (3) months.
  8. Business/self-employed: Visa request letter on official letterhead with company registration papers.
  9. Yellow Fever Vaccination Card / Certificate (Original & a copy).
  10. Return Air Ticket & Accommodation Booking.
  1. Passport: Your passport must be machine readable and also must. be valid for the next six months and have at least one blank visa page.
  2. Photographs: You must provide one color, passport-type photograph taken within the last three months and printed on high-quality photo paper
  3. Letter of Invitation: You must provide a letter of invitation from the organization or entity that you are visiting.
  4. Proof of Travel Arrangements: You must provide proof of travel arrangements for the duration of your trip. Include a copy of an itinerary or e-ticket that displays your round trip travel and entry and exit dates for your destination
  5. Vaccination Certificate: You must provide a copy of your Yellow Fever vaccination certificate.
  6. Documents Required for Minors & Parental Consent: Applicants twenty and younger traveling without parents must submit a notarized parental authorization form from both parents.
  7. Hotel Confirmation: You must provide a confirmation of your hotel accommodations. Your confirmation must, include your intended dates of stay and display your full name.
  8. Reference: You must provide a valid hotel/accommodation booking or reservation with the full address, including the name, street, city, zip code, and contact information. The booking reference must be included.
  9. Flight Ticket Reservation: You must provide a copy of your roundtrip flight ticket reservation.
  10. Invitation Letter (if any): If you have been invited by a resident in Mali , you must provide an invitation letter detailing the purpose of your trip and the dates of your stay.
  11. Proof of Financial Means: You must provide proof of your financial means, such as payslips, bank statements, cash, traveler’s cheques, or vouchers.
  12. For Minors: If you are a minor, you must provide a copy of your birth certificate, proof of adoption, or custody decree if your parents are divorced, as well as a letter of consent from your parent(s) or legal guardian(s) if you are traveling unaccompanied.
